What happens in a Women’s Circle?

A question I get asked a lot is what happens at a circle?

So here I will share my format. After a lot of experimenting, I finally settled on a fixed format rather than a more explorative and creative one. The reason for this is that I felt the circle benefited from the ritual and repetitive nature of the format.

We experience and live with a lot of overstimulation in our nervous systems and lives. On the face of it, it would seem that life asks so much of us, and we are expected to do so without much rest and support. Much like how I see the effect of regular treatments build into a person’s nervous system, the repetitive nature gives an important checkpoint to our mind, body, and soul that it’s time to relax and we can sink into the safe space held. Safety after all is learned, and something we have to practice. Sure, you might feel a bit nervous coming to your first one, but I’m positive if you continue to come within a few circles you will feel more at ease and will receive nourishment, healing, and support on a much deeper level.

My circle format is as follows:

Welcome and introduction,

Grounding exercise- no experience needed I promise,

Ritual number 1: Calling ourselves present to circle,

Introduction of the circle topic:

Exercise to explore the topic- this could be something like journalling or movement.

Open the share- You do not have to share if you don’t want to. Listening is still an active state as a circle member!

Set intention- upon reflection you are invited to make an intention/ focus to carry you through till the next time we meet.

Close circle- closing ritual- again no experience needed.

So you see the only thing that changes each circle is the topic and the exercise, everything else you will come to know, expect, and love!

The maximum number of circle attendees is 15 people. Circles with new mothers and their babies are limited to 8 spaces. Both numbers are to give enough space, time, and connection to attendees to get the most from the experience.

Circles last between 90-120 minutes.

Ready to join our next circle and growing community of radiant and empowered women?

“Radiant- Women’s circles” are held in East Devon, in Topsham; welcoming ladies from the Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Exeter, Lympstone, Sidmouth, and Woodbury area- and further afield if you're happy to travel!

Hope to see you soon,

Rebecca
